Zero compromises made.
We wanted beautiful, safe objects at our family's table.
One toddler. One dodgy silicone bowl. One very long rabbit hole.
Plastic doesn't just hold food—it holds hormonal disruptors. Silicone is basically a smell sponge that never dries out. Bamboo warps, splinters, and has trust issues with moisture. Ceramic coatings peel right into dinner like party confetti nobody asked for.
We needed a material that actually quits its job after meals. Enter: 304 food-grade stainless steel—the same grade trusted in commercial kitchens. It's non-reactive (nothing gets out) and unbreakable (everything bounces). We coloured it with PVD, the same tough finish used on premium watches and tapware, so it's beautiful without being a secret toxic dump.
One bowl. No compromises. No asterisks.
NO TOXIC STUFF
Engineered for chaos. Built to outlast it.
The Minderoo Foundation's 2024 umbrella review found consistent evidence that plastic chemicals (BPA, phthalates, PFAS) linked to neurodevelopment issues, obesity, blood pressure problems, and reproductive health impacts in children. Stainless steel avoids this entirely. Chemically inert—nothing leaches, nothing transfers. Just food, as it should be.
Unlike plastic (which leaches hormonal disruptors), silicone (which traps odours), and coatings (which peel), stainless steel is genuinely inert. No BPA, phthalates, PVC, melamine, PFAS, or lead. That means no compromise.
Won't chip, crack, scratch, or stain (well, rarely). Doesn't absorb bacteria like porous materials. Built for every toddler gravity experiment. One set for mealtime years, then pass it down.
Hand wash with mild soap or dishwasher safe (use soft detergents). Don't microwave stainless steel. Rust spots? Damp baking soda removes them instantly. These are real dishes that need real care—but it's simple.
"We wanted it. It didn't exist. Classic."
— The Nunch Team
Right size, right from the start.
One tablespoon per year of age, three meals, one snack. That's it.
About a third of a cup per food group. The biggest sugar culprit isn't the food — it's what's in the cup. Swap juice for water.
Half a cup each. Snacks are a quarter of their daily calories — make them count.
Trust hunger cues over clean plates. Portions vary by age, gender, and activity level — these are starting points, not rules.
Harder to break than to clean.
The DO's
💧 Hand Wash
Mild soap + hot water. Dry with soft cloth to avoid spots.
🍽️ Dishwasher Safe
Low-temp cycle, soft detergent (no bleach). Space pieces apart.
❄️ Temperature Smart
Steel keeps cold cold, hot hot. Always cool food before serving.
🧹 Baking Soda Magic
Rust spot? Dampen + baking soda + soft sponge. Done.
The DON'Ts
🚫 No Microwave
Stainless steel + microwave = nope. Heat food separately.
🚫 No Harsh Scrubbers
Steel wool, coarse pads, abrasive tools = scratch risk.
🚫 No Long Soaks
Over 1 hour = mineral buildup risk. Wash soon after use.
🚫 No Acidic Overnight
Don't leave citrus, vinegar, or dairy sitting all night.
It's called stainless steel, not stain-proof. Small marks and character lines happen naturally. That's not failure—that's longevity.
Small word. Deliberate choice.
The two dots over the ü? Not a design detail. That's a smiley face. Because mealtimes — even the chaotic ones — are supposed to be joyful.
That's the whole point.
